Subject: alsa: would ike a means of selecting card drivers to be built
Date: Sun, 12 Sep 1999 22:22:39 +0200
Package: alsa-source
Version: 0.3.2-2
Severity: wishlist
The alsa configure script provides an option for choosing the card(s)
for which to include a drive. It would be nice to allow a standard
interface to set this parameter.

Thanks for your report. Your proposal can be implemented
in 0.4.1c-2. If you want to select card drivers to be built,
set the drivers to the ALSA_CARDS environment variable.
If you want to build sb16 then set the environment variable:
ALSA_CARDS=card-sb16
if you want to build multiple card drivers in one modules package
then separate each driver name by colon. For example,
ALSA_CARDS=card-sb16:card-cs4232
Possible driver names are:
card-dummy
card-interwave
card-interwave-stb
card-gusmax
card-gusextreme
card-gusclassic
card-es1688
card-es18xx
card-sb8
card-sb16
card-sbawe
card-opl3sa2
card-mozart
card-sonicvibes
card-ens1370
card-ens1371
card-ad1848
card-als100
card-azt2320
card-cs4231
card-cs4232
card-cs4236card-es968
card-cs461x
card-dt0197h
card-fm801
card-es1938
card-opti9xx
card-serial
card-trident
card-sgalaxy
card-wavefront
card-hal2
card-cmi8330
This is the same name of the argument of configure --with-cards.
